Planning to attend an HC Davos home game? This guide helps you organise your hockey evening, from buying tickets and travelling by train or car to finding the right arena entrance and planning your journey home.

The information is based on official guidance from HC Davos, the Rhaetian Railway and Davos Tourism. Before travelling, check the latest information for your chosen game.

Davos Ice Stadium: Ice Hockey Beneath the Wooden Roof

Davos Ice Stadium is particularly well known for its striking wooden roof, which earned it the nickname “Ice Palace”. The current stadium was built between 1979 and 1981 and underwent extensive renovation between 2018 and 2021.

Since 2026, the stadium has been known as VAT Arena. When planning your visit, you may therefore encounter both the traditional name “Davos Ice Stadium” and the current arena name.

HC Davos Tickets: Planning Your Game Visit

Choose your home game through the official HC Davos ticket section. There you can check available places and current prices. Before booking, confirm the game date, start time and your chosen arena section.

HC Davos explicitly recommends buying tickets through its official sales channels. Use the ticket link on the club’s website to reach the official booking platform.

Decide whether you would prefer a seated or standing ticket. If you are attending together and want adjacent seats, check the seat numbers on the seating plan before completing your purchase.

Travelling to the Game with the Rhaetian Railway

For the 2026/27 season, your HC Davos match ticket also covers your outward and return journey to the home game on the Rhaetian Railway (RhB) network. The offer is valid in second class from all RhB stations to Davos Platz. Between Chur and Landquart, it applies exclusively to RhB trains.

If you are travelling from outside the RhB network, your match ticket does not automatically cover the entire journey. You will need a separate valid ticket for any sections outside the offer.

Plan your journey to Davos Platz station, from where you can walk to the arena. Before departure, check the current timetable and any service updates.

Getting Home: Plan Your Return Journey

For the 2026/27 season, an additional train is scheduled to leave Davos Platz at 22:40 after HC Davos evening home games. It travels through the Prättigau valley and Landquart to Chur. Your match ticket also covers second-class travel on this service.

Check your return journey in the current timetable before visiting the arena. Pay particular attention to onward connections if you need to travel beyond Landquart or Chur. Allow enough time to walk from the stadium back to Davos Platz station.

If the game runs longer than expected, check the latest information from the Rhaetian Railway. Do not assume that your planned connection will automatically wait until the game finishes.

Arriving by Car: Parking in Davos

Parking immediately around VAT Arena is very limited. Decide where you will park before setting off.

HC Davos lists parking options at the Congress Centre, Parsennbahn, Jakobshornbahn and the Silvretta car park. Depending on your chosen location, you can continue to the stadium on foot or by bus. The club also suggests Park & Ride in Landquart as an option for combining your drive with a train journey to Davos.

Allow enough time to find a parking space and reach the arena. In winter, check the weather and road conditions before travelling. Follow local signs and check the parking charges and conditions at your chosen location.

Arena Entrances: Finding the Right Way In

Check the arena section shown on your ticket before your visit. According to HC Davos visitor information, access to the regular standing and seating sections is from the north side of VAT Arena.

Away supporters in section O11 use a separate entrance on the southeast side. Wheelchair users enter via the northeast entrance.

Before the game, check the current arena map and the instructions on your ticket. If you need wheelchair seating or assistance with access, contact HC Davos before purchasing your ticket to confirm the arrangements.

What to Bring to the Game

Have your valid match ticket ready at the entrance. If you are using a digital ticket, make sure your phone has enough battery charge. Bring an official photo ID, too: HC Davos may request proof of identity during admission checks.

Warm clothing and minimal luggage will make your visit easier. If you want to bring a larger bag or backpack, check the current requirements directly with the club beforehand.

According to the published HC Davos terms, bottles of any kind and drinks cans are prohibited inside the stadium. Follow the current arena rules and the instructions given by security staff.

Your HC Davos Game-Day Checklist

Before setting off, check the following:

  • Have you confirmed the game date and start time?

  • Do you have your valid match ticket and official photo ID?

  • Do you know your arena section and the correct entrance?

  • Have you planned your outward journey, return trip and any connections?

  • If travelling by car, have you chosen a parking location?

  • Have you checked the current admission rules?

  • Is your phone charged, and have you packed warm clothing?

Allow enough time to reach the arena and pass through admission checks. Always follow the latest information from HC Davos, the transport operators and the instructions for your booked game.
