Planning to watch HC Fribourg-Gottéron at home? A little preparation makes all the difference. Securing the right ticket, choosing your route to the BCF Arena and perhaps booking a meal before the game can turn a hockey match into a memorable day out.
This guide takes you from buying your ticket to planning your journey home. Discover how to reach the arena, what families and visiting supporters should consider, and how to include a restaurant reservation or a visit to the official fanshop.
Check the Schedule: Is Your Game Being Played in Fribourg?
Before booking tickets, a restaurant or accommodation, check Fribourg-Gottéron’s official schedule. Confirm the date, face-off time, competition and venue. An away fixture will take place at the opposing team’s arena.
A first-team home game is the natural starting point for a first visit. However, ticket arrangements and conditions can differ between National League games, Champions Hockey League fixtures and other events.
Check the details again shortly before travelling. Plan around the published time for your particular game rather than assuming a standard evening start.
Fribourg-Gottéron Tickets: Book Early Through Official Channels
Secure your match ticket before making the rest of your arrangements. Fribourg-Gottéron states that demand exceeds the available ticket supply, so arriving without a ticket is not a reliable plan.
Use the club’s official ticket shop or Ticketcorner. If your chosen fixture initially appears sold out, check the official shop again: additional seats may become available through the club’s secondary market.
Avoid buying from unknown sellers on social media or unofficial platforms. The club explicitly warns about invalid tickets and purchases that are never delivered.
The arena ticket windows no longer provide regular advance sales. Subject to availability, the evening box office opens two hours before face-off and applies a surcharge of CHF 2 per ticket.
Check the price for your selected game and category before paying. Make sure the date, section and ticket category are correct.
Seated, Standing or Away Section: Choose the Right Ticket
For a first visit, a seated ticket can be a comfortable choice. You have an allocated place and can follow the game without standing throughout the evening. This is particularly useful when attending with children or anyone who would prefer to sit.
Supporters of the visiting team should consult the club’s dedicated away-sector information. Fribourg-Gottéron provides an away standing section and an away seated section in block 208.
Sales arrangements for away standing tickets depend on the opponent. They may involve the visiting club or its fan representatives.
The away standing section is specifically reserved for supporters of the visiting team. Neutral spectators and Fribourg-Gottéron fans must not book it as an alternative when other sections are sold out.
Check your entrance before arriving. The club lists entrance E for away seats in block 208 and entrance F for the away standing section.
BCF Arena Address
BCF Arena
Chemin St-Léonard 5
1700 Fribourg
Switzerland
Use the full arena name and street address when planning your route. For public transport, the stops Fribourg/Freiburg, Poya and Fribourg, Stade-Patinoire are particularly relevant.
Getting to BCF Arena by Train and Bus
The club recommends travelling by public transport because parking around the arena is limited.
Its published directions identify bus line 1 towards Portes-de-Fribourg, using the Poya or Stade-Patinoire stops, and the S1 train service to Fribourg/Freiburg, Poya. Check the complete route from your starting point for the date of your game.
Do not automatically assume that an individual match ticket includes public transport. The official arrival pages contain conflicting information on this point. Check the conditions attached to your particular ticket and purchase a separate transport ticket if required.
Save your return connections before leaving home. A tight connection to the last train can become stressful if the match runs late or leaving the arena takes longer than expected.
Arriving by Car: Parking and Leaving After the Game
If you are driving, consult the official parking plan before travelling. The listed options include the public Saint-Léonard car park and parking at Forum Fribourg. Check the current tariffs and conditions for your chosen location.
Allow extra time after the game. The club warns that traffic and security arrangements can prevent vehicles from leaving the Saint-Léonard car park for up to an hour after the match ends.
Avoid scheduling an appointment immediately afterwards. Planning for the departure is just as important as finding a space before face-off.
When Should You Arrive at the Arena?
For a first visit, we recommend reaching the arena approximately one hour before face-off. This gives you time to find your entrance, pass through security and get your bearings inside.
Allow considerably more time if you want to eat beforehand or visit the fanshop. A dinner reservation just before the game starts can quickly create unnecessary pressure.
According to the arena’s published information, regular entrances A, B, E and F normally open 75 minutes before face-off. Always follow the instructions for your particular fixture and use the entrance shown on your ticket.
The Official Gottéron Fanshop: Jerseys, Scarves and Souvenirs
The official fanshop is located at the BCF Arena, Chemin St-Léonard 5 in Fribourg. Its range includes jerseys, clothing, accessories and other Fribourg-Gottéron merchandise.
The published regular opening hours are Tuesday to Friday from 1 pm to 6 pm and Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm. Extended opening arrangements apply on home matchdays; the online fanshop lists opening until the end of home games.
Check the latest hours and any special arrangements before making a separate trip. If you are looking for a particular jersey or size, contact the shop beforehand rather than assuming it will be available.
Our tip: leave enough time to browse before the match. You can then enjoy the game without having to choose between shopping and catching your connection home.
Eating Before the Game: SportCafé at BCF Arena
If you would like to combine your hockey evening with a meal, SportCafé is a convenient option inside the BCF Arena. The arena recommends it as a meeting point before or after a match.
The published matchday menu includes fondue moitié-moitié made with Gruyère AOP and Vacherin Fribourgeois AOP. Other options include the Fribourg-Gottéron burger, a vegetarian dish and meringues with double cream. Check the current menu, prices and availability before booking.
Some dishes require ordering 48 hours in advance. Mention allergies, intolerances or other dietary requirements when making your enquiry.
Reservations for home match evenings are accepted exclusively by email:
reservation@fribourg-gotteron.ch
Include the game date, number of people and your preferred arrival time. Your request is not a confirmed reservation until the restaurant replies.
Allow enough time to enjoy your meal and then reach your entrance and seat without rushing.
Restaurants and Hospitality: Check What Your Booking Includes
The BCF Arena has several other dining and hospitality areas, including Le Gottéron, Le 4380, Les Augustins and L’Antre du Dragon.
Their presence does not mean that every standard match ticket provides access to every restaurant or hospitality space. Before booking, confirm which offers are available for your chosen evening and what access conditions apply.
If you are considering a hospitality package, ask exactly what is included. Does it cover your match seat and meal? Which drinks are included? Which entrance should you use?
For a straightforward first visit, a separately purchased match ticket and a confirmed SportCafé reservation can be an easy combination to organise.
Visiting with Children: Check the Family Corner Early
Fribourg-Gottéron offers a dedicated Family Corner in block 405 on level 4, accessed through entrance E. According to the club, toilets and refreshment facilities are conveniently accessible from this area.
Availability is limited. Because demand is high, places are allocated through a draw rather than ordinary unrestricted booking. Check the official family page for application windows and conditions.
Under the published offer, one child is free per paying adult, with separate prices for additional people. The Family Corner is intended for families with children up to the age of 15.
The club also states that children aged zero to five may enter free without their own seat, sitting on an accompanying adult’s lap. A separate seat requires the appropriate child ticket.
Our recommendation: bring suitable hearing protection for younger children. Explain beforehand that music, goal celebrations and crowd noise can be loud.
Accessible Visits: Arrange Your Place and Entrance in Advance
If you need a wheelchair space or seating for a spectator with reduced mobility, organise the booking before travelling. The official ticket page lists dedicated places and reservation forms for individual games.
Confirm the entrance, arrangements for a companion and, if necessary, the route from your parking location to your place. Avoid leaving these questions until you reach the arena.

Entry and Security: Travel Light
Have your ticket ready at the entrance and allow time for security checks. Follow the instructions given by arena staff.
The published security rules prohibit bottles and cans of all kinds, including PET plastic and aluminium. Weapons, pyrotechnics, laser devices and other dangerous objects are also prohibited.
Our practical advice is to bring as little luggage as possible. If you need to carry a large backpack, suitcase or unusual item, ask the club about the applicable rules before travelling. Do not assume suitable storage will be available on site.
Bring an additional layer of clothing as well. Sitting beside an ice rink for an extended period can feel cool, even when the building is busy.
Discover BCF Arena on a Guided Tour
Would you like to see the arena beyond the matchday experience? BCF Arena offers guided visits.
The published tour duration is approximately 90 minutes. The listed rate is CHF 10 per person for a group of 15. Smaller groups are possible, but a minimum charge of CHF 150 per guide applies.
Tours are not available on matchdays, so you cannot simply add one immediately before your home-game visit.
For enquiries and reservations, contact:
Confirm the date, price, group size and available tour language before making your arrangements.
After the Game: Plan Your Journey Home
Organise your return journey before travelling to Fribourg. Stoppages, overtime or a penalty shootout can extend the evening. You also need time to leave your section and make your way out of the arena.
If you are using public transport, save a later connection as a backup. An overnight stay may be the more relaxed option if you live far away or want to enjoy a leisurely meal after the match.
Drivers should also allow additional time after a busy fixture. Your hockey evening does not end the moment the final buzzer sounds.
